Vacation

We recently went on vacation to the coast line of Georgia. We stayed on Jekyll Island, which is actually a national park. We visited the other islands on the coast including St. Simon's Island and Tybee Island. We were able to see 3 more lighthouses, which makes a total of 6 lighthouses Hadley has been to! My cousin Holly, her husband, and their children went with us and we had a wonderful time. Hadley was so much fun this year. She loved the pool and ocean, which she called "the big pool". She woke up every morning asking when we were going to the big pool. She was a wonderful car rider too! Thank goodness for the portable DVD player!

My Crazy Kid

This child of mine is sooo silly. Here is an example. I had a newspaper sitting on a chair in our bedroom. I was in the bathroom blow drying my hair when I see Hadley come through the door with part of the newspaper over her head trying to scare me. She had no idea where she was headed, because she couldn't see a thing! Then she proceeded to go into the closet and put on my high healed shoes...typical girl!

Father's Day and Daniel's B-Day

Father's Day and Daniel's birthday are always very close together. I always kind of lump them together, which is kind of sad, especially since I understand how he feels, since I have a holiday birthday myself. Anyway they were only a few days apart this year. Last year they were on the same day. I think he had a good father's day. Hadley got him a University of Tennessee history book. It was really cool because it had tickets and pictures from the beginning of Tennessee history. To celebrate his birthday we had a small party with family at our home. He got a ton of nice clothes and shoes. My mom and dad got him a storage bench for outside. And of course, we had his favorite cake...ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. Hadley decided that she really enjoyed the tissue paper that was in Daddy's presents. It serves as perfect blankets for her babies!

More Zoo Fun

Since Hadley enjoys the zoo so much we decided that it would be a good idea to get season passes. We invited my longtime friend, Claudia, and her son, Hayden, to join us for a day of fun at the zoo. It was Hayden's first zoo experience and he seemed to really enjoy it. I had fun spending time with Claudia and Hayden and I know Hadley did! I think they liked the sandbox and petting zoo the best. We could hardly get them to leave.

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day we had a cookout at the park for all the mothers. It was a great time to relax and let the fathers chase the kids around.

Birthday Parties Galore

Yesterday Hadley was invited to 3 birthday parties. Since we couldn't physically go to all of them we sent a present to one and attended 2. The first party was for a little boy who goes to the babysitter's with Hadley. His name is Logan and it was his very first birthday. It was at the fire department where his dad is a volunteer firefighter. It was really cute. The second party was for a two year old named Zach. I teach with his mom at Eaton. It was a great party and Hadley had a wonderful time. There were a lot of fun things for the kids to do and Hadley got to play on Zach's wooden swing set. We are planning on getting her one next weekend, so at least we know she'll like it!

My first blog

The other day a parent in my classroom invited me to look at her blog site. I must say I was impressed and then...I felt inspired to create my own blog to share with my family and friends, especially those who live far away. Her blog was very interesting and although I'm not sure I have enough time and dedication to make my blog as good as her's, I thought I would give it a shot.
