Ok...so I don't condone bribery but when it comes to getting your child to do #2 in the potty I'm pretty sure anything goes. I mean I was SERIOUSLY tired off cleaning up poop. So, I made a deal with Hadley...if she poops in the potty ALL THE TIME she could get her ears pierced. Well, congratulations to both of us because she's finally done it!! We've went weeks now without a poop accident! Today we went and had her ears pierced. She was so excited and kept telling me she wanted "pink diamond Tinkerbell princess earrings". She settled for pink studs which we of course named "pink diamond Tinkerbell princess earrings"! She was such a big girl!

Disney Adventures
My mom and I recently took Hadley to Disney on Ice. Needless to say, she had a BLAST. She is obsessed with anything Mickey Mouse so she loved every part of the show. She is very excited to go ice skating now, so I plan on taking her real soon. She was soooo cute. She waved at the characters every time they got the slightest bit close to where we were sitting. I've never seen her pay such close attention to anything in her life. She didn't move a muscle and when intermission came along she immediately wanted to know when it was going to start again...the show was money well spent! Oh...and guess what she wore? Yep...tinkerbell...AGAIN!

Imaginary or typical toddler?
After showering, I went downstairs to see what Miss Hadley was up to. I walked into her bedroom and she was talking to her dolls. She had taken the comforter off her bed and had her babies lined up with food on the blanket. When I asked her what they were doing, she said, "Having a picnic!" Now, don't get me wrong I think this is absolutely adorable and I LOVE her imagination...but let me take you back a day...
I am sitting at my grandmother's house having dinner. Her neighbor is there and my mamaw begins to tell the neighbor about my imaginary friend I had when I was little. She tells her how she would get chills when I would talk to my "friend" and basically said I was a weird kid!!! Hum...my only defense is to pull the "I'm an only child" card. I don't really remember this special person but everyone else in my family seems to remember him/her vividly.
Now, back to Hadley...so I walk into her room and she is talking to her dolls and my only thought is oh no...I'm not telling my mamaw!
Hey...it could happen!
So...here's the scenario. I'm fixing dinner and Hadley is watching TV. I walk into the living room to check on her and she is sitting on the chair with an umbrella so I say, "Hadley what are doing with that umbrella?" and she says, "It's rainin' mom!" Oh boy...too cute. Well, I've always been told "prepare for the worst, expect the best". How could I fault her for being prepared?
My lil' Stinkerbell!
Hadley was sooooo excited about Halloween. She loved trick-or-treating, since this was her first year to go door to door. She dressed up as Tinkerbell on this day, and the day before, and the day before that, and the next day...in other words when you see us at Walmart, she'll probably be wearing her Tinkerbell costume.
Pumpkin Fun!
My friend, Michelle, and I took the kiddos to Maple Lane Farms in Greenback. Well...actually there's a funny story here. According to the people working there you can not take a hay ride unless you have 12 people or more due to the high gas prices. Knowing this, we were a little bummed to not be able to take the kids on a hay ride for part of their pumpkin patch extravaganza. THEN a terrific thing happened. We noticed a school group of kindergartners, who happened to be from AL Lotts Elementary School. We politely asked if we could join their group for the hay ride and of course they said yep! I mean what were they going to say considering we asked them in front of 3 cute kiddos. Seriously, have you seen Hadley? She's adorable and I have a hard time saying no to her who wouldn't, right? Anyways, Michelle and I joked around the entire time claiming we "crashed" a kindergarten pumpkin patch field trip. Well, at least I can mark that off my bucket list...Thanks AL Lotts!
Lil' Sprouts Fun
Hadley had her third birthday at Little Sprouts Studio in Knoxville. She absolutely loves this place and has been there several times for a birthday party and just for fun. A lot of her friends came to share her special day. The theme was art and each of the children got to paint a canvas to take home as a souvenir. Hadley's masterpiece has a special place in mommy's bedroom. I made her a cute shirt to wear...look for it in the photos. You can purchase these for an outrageous price from me if anyone is interested...just kidding...

Why motherhood of a 3 year old is never boring...
1. Your child always has a number of activities for you to do...play dress-up, eat her play food, build blocks, color, spank...you know, the usual.
2. You always have eyes on you (since your child is the one yelling at the top of her lungs that she needs to pee in the potty in a busy restaurant).
3. Modesty is out the window due to the fact that all persons at the perfume counter at Belk know that you can pee in potty, wipe, and wash your hands all by yourself!
4. Your child picks a favorite word and continues to scream it to strangers and make up songs about it....Hadley's favorite word at the moment is poopy. What? You've never heard of the song, "Little Bo-Poopy", or "Mary Had a Little Poopy". Well, come to my house.
5. Your child always goes in public wearing full costume. For us that includes a princess dress, butterfly wings, rain boots, and a cowboy hat. My little future style gooroo...
6. Your child only eats about 3 different things and then decides she only likes one of those on Wednesdays. ("Hadley do you want a grilled cheese"..."No, I just want that on Wednesday". Grrr...
7. Your child makes you repeat after her..."Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Hadley the Great" while she dances around you at the grocery store.
8. People in Walmart, Ingles, Foodcity...basically anywhere...look at you as if to say, "Control your child while you're at the checkout counter". My response to this: I've controlled her (sort of) the whole time we've been in here...YOUR TURN!
9. You know that you've threatened to spank and go to time out enough when you walk into your child's room and all her babies have been spanked and are sitting in time-out. :(
10. Finally...that child that has embarrassed you at every public place you've been, wrote on nameless things with her "special markers", threw toys in the toilet, made pictures with spit on your car windows, and basically been a cute stinker all day-looks at you with her cute little smile, kisses you and says, "Mommy, I love you". Awww....melts my heart all over again.

I'm Back and Hadley's 3!!!
Ok...so I admit. It's been a while since I've updated this thing and I'm not making any promises here to continue. A friend of mine actually commented the other day that I haven't updated my blog since April. I thought, "April, really...hum?". Then, I checked and low and behold she was right. Needless to say I thought I'd throw her a bone and do a lil' bloggin!
Hadley had her 3 year pictures taken a few weeks ago and they are amazing. For those of you who are wondering, Jayson Mullen took'em and he is fab! Of course I have to admit he had a pretty great person to take pictures of, but I've seen his other stuff and it's all really great too. His website is http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaysonmullen So...check it out!

M and M's Big Splat
Hadley recently went to a birthday party for a preschool friend at M&M's Big Spat. She had a great time! They had loads of fun art activities to do with the kids. She made a painting, a crown, a necklace, and even painted with shaving cream and colored water. Her favorite part though was licking the icing off the cake. She was so upset when we arrived that we were not eating cake for the first activity that she literally pitched a fit! She finally got into the groove of things and had a great time, but when she spied the cake she ran through the place yelling, "Mom the cake is out of the oven now!"
Easter
This was Hadley's 3rd Easter and of course the most fun one yet! She went on 4 Easter egg hunts! She got pretty good at finding the eggs, but not so good at hiding them. She went on 2 egg hunts at preschool and Daniel and I took her to 2 more. I also took her to see the Easter bunny at West Town Mall, but after 4 tries she still wouldn't sit on the Easter bunny's lap. I bribed her with everything I could think of...a cookie from The Cookie Co., a new dress, and playing at the playset in the mall...needless to say my antics did not work and she was not fooled! Maybe next year... As for the Easter basket, the only thing she wanted was a pair of rainboots!

The BIG Circus!
We took Hadley to the big circus this past weekend. We had a really great time, but I was a little disappointed. For almost $80 it wasn't really any better than the Shriner's circus, which is free! I'm glad we went for the experience, but next year I think we'll just hit the Shriner's and that's all.

Hadley's 3rd Christmas
Hadley was at a perfect age for Christmas this year. She was very into Santa Clause and seems to have overcome her fear of people in costumes. She went right up to Santa, sat on his lap, and told him exactly what she wanted for Christmas, a bicycle and a baby doll! She really enjoyed putting food on the grass for Santa's reindeer and leaving milk and cookies out for Santa. Even now, in February, she still says, "Santa says, HO HO HO Merry Christmas and he is going to bring me more presents"!
